The new Animal Crossing: New Horizons update has fixed bugs that cropped up after players attempted to remodel their island resident’s homes.
Last week on November 5, Nintendo acknowledged reports of bugs surfacing in the new Happy Home Paradise DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, in the first tweet seen just below. However, as the follow-up tweet mentions today on November 12, Nintendo has successfully resolved the bugs facing players in the new DLC, by releasing a brand new update for New Horizons.
A new #AnimalCrossingNewHorizons software update (Ver2.0.1) that fixes the gameplay bugs mentioned above is now available. Thank you for your patience.November 12, 2021

In particular, the official Nintendo website elaborates on the issues that players were facing last week. It seems that players were experiencing gameplay issues in New Horizons when asking Tom Nook to remodel the home of one of their island companions, but only if their island gates were open for multiplayer at the exact same time.
If this occurs, the Nintendo website reads, and you find that you’re encountering gameplay issues after asking Tom Nook to remodel, simply close and then reopen New Horizons on your Switch. This obviously wasn’t ideal for anyone involved, but it’s good to see that the issue has now been resolved in a new update, and players can remodel homes with their island gates open.
Happy Home Paradise launched just last week for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, acting as the first and last paid-for DLC expansion pack for the game. It offers up some creative house extension and redesign options, not unlike the Happy Home Designer game back in 2015. The massive Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 2.0 launched a day before the new DLC, introducing Brewster and his fancy cafe, among other additions.
